I (Barbados) recently visited my home country of Barbados and want to share some of the highlights of my travels with the "Welcome to the Wall" community. Above you will see the beach which is located on the west coast of the island. The beach is called "Payne's Bay". It is a popular tourist site with many attractions including: jet skis, banana boat ride, and catamaran cruises. The West Coast is the most popular place to find tourist on the island and continues to boast beautiful, calm beaches and great food.
While visiting family and enjoying the warm weather, I tried my hand at some of the traditional bajan dishes (fish cakes and macaroni pie). Below you can see my fish cakes turned out delicious as well as the macaroni pie. The recipe can be found at http://barbados.org/barbados-recipes-fishcakes.htm
The recipe for the macaroni pie is also found at http://barbados.org/barbados-recipes-macaroni-pie.htm
The next morning I was greeted by a few of the green monkeys which are native to the island and only come out during the early hours of the day. They usually travel in packs and love to snack on the many fruit trees found on the island. I will post additional pictures to our Instagram (@welcometothewallpodcast) until I Saturday 12/17 so please check that out if you would like to see more of my home. If you are considering taking a vacation in the future, then don't hesitate to make Barbados your first choice.
